With a rebrand and office relocation under their belt, GKS Law is now focusing on the expansion of their brilliant team.
Ben Webster is the latest addition to said team, joining the Redcliffe office as an Associate, bringing with him an impressive list of credentials.
Peninsula Life sat down with Ben to get to know a little more about his drive, experience, and what he brings to the team.
Ben is an admitted Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia, and has started at GKS Law as an Associate working with the Commercial and Property, Wills and Estates and Litigation Teams.
Over his six years in the industry, Ben has worked in a broad range of Commercial, Property, Wills and Estates and Litigation roles. He has a talent for being able to explain complex legal matters to clients in practical and understandable terms, which has been invaluable for ensuring his clients legal goals have been achieved.
Ben now works across many of GKS Law’s practice areas, and is passionate about all aspects of Property Law, ranging from small to large scale residential and commercial property development, the buying and selling of commercial property and acting for Lessee’s and lessors of Commercial, Industrial and Retail Leasing.
Another area of Ben’s diverse property practice is within the agribusiness sector. He regularly advises on rural property transactions including the buying and selling of farming and grazing land, livestock and water allocations.
Ben’s best advice to those looking at undertaking a rural property transaction is:
“Surround yourself with a support team of a solicitor and accountant and obtain the required advice before entering into transaction of that nature.”
When it comes to being a good lawyer, Ben believes clear communication with clients is an integral piece of the puzzle.
“Having excellent communication with clients means that we are able to identify and resolve issues efficiently, communicating regularly with clients on the progress of the matter and what is happening/ed, advise and manage reasonable timeframe expectations of the client and to keep the client appraised of what is happening throughout the different stages of their matter.”
Joining the GKS Law team was an easy decision for Ben, as he had many successful dealings with the GKS Law team previously. Ben couldn’t be more thrilled to be starting his next chapter in Redcliffe, Queensland.
“The Peninsula is a very vibrant and exciting community, with fantastic coffee and scenic views. I am excited to be working with Mike and the team here at GKS Law, as the firm provides great opportunity and breadth of exciting local work.”
Ben looks forward to working with the GKS Law partners on expanding their reach to include Commercial and Business Law, which is expected to launch in later 2018.
